In 2011, The Disneyland Resort completed a major renovation of two of  their hotels.  Both were given a fresh look and new story, so the site needed to reflect that.

Case Study: Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort presented a number of challenges.. The solution I delivered was “The Wicked Gooey Apple Awards.”

This site was a success with website driven revenue up 30% compared to the previous year. This concept and site also boosted page views, social media engagement, and time spent on the site significantly.

Disney Soundsational Summer

Each year the WDPRO crafts a mini-site to promote the summer season. The concept, “From the Sea to Stars” was selected and introduced new seasonal attractions.  Disney Soundsational Summer went on to win the Web Marketing Association’s Outstanding Website Award for 2011.It’s easiest to read in full screen mode.

Duffy The Bear is a park character (or “Rubber Head”) and plush toy that is very popular at Disneyland Tokyo Sea. When Duffy came to America, he didn’t have an American-ized backstory. So, I created one.Read up on Duffy!

 

Save Some Cash
Special Offers are a regular feature to promote savings and special events throughout Disney Parks. Suprisingly, I found this to be the most intricate writing I have ever done. In addition to making the offer as clear as possible, the needs of Legal, Marketing, Businesss Partners, and International stakeholders all need to be balanced. It’s Literary Jenga– one word out of place and the whole copy deck goes down.
